Anthony Powell Society Formed June 13, 2000 00:00 |
We are pleased to announce the formation of The Anthony Powell Society at a meeting in London on Thursday 01 June 2000. An inaugural meeting to formally agree a constitution for the society, elect officers and agree membership terms will be held in due course. In the meantime a constitution is being developed, based on advice from the Alliance of Literary Societies and the UK Charity Commissioners.
Although detailed roles & responsibilities have not yet been agreed, the society will be developed and managed by Keith Marshall, Julian Allason, Stephen Holden, Noreen Marshall, Catherine Mansel Lewis and Sue Frye until the inaugural meeting.

Plans for an Anthony Powell Conference June 13, 2000 00:00 |
Plans are afoot for a one day Anthony Powell conference. It is hoped that the conference will be in the London area of the UK on a date near Easter 2001. The organising committee are currently working on finding a suitable, interesting and affordable venue with whom a date can be agreed.
