I appear to have lost some emails from my system in the last week or so. If you have emailed me recently (and I know some people have) please could I ask you to resend the emails to me at kcm@cix.co.uk. Many thanks, and apologies for the inconvenience. Best wishes for 2005 ... Keith ---------------------------------------------------------------- Dr Keith C Marshall kcm@cix.co.uk Hon. I am delighted, at long last, to be able to announce what has been a badly kept secret for the last few months ... Random House are republishing Dance during the first half of 2005 for Powell's centenary under their Arrow imprint. This new edition is a mass-market paperback, in 12 single volumes. The covers are all redesigned but still use the well-loved Mark Boxer cartoons. The first trilogy is due out in the next few days and most volumes can be ordered now through Amazon UK and Amazon.com -- please use these links to order as they will also help the Society. Availability is:
We already have early copies of the first 3 volumes in the Society archive, and I have seen the covers for the first six and, while they are mass-market paperbacks, they do look good. What is even better, for many here, is that at our suggestion Random House are also republishing Hilary Spurling's handbook to Dance under its US and paperback title Invitation to the Dance. Again this is an Arrow paperback, due out on 05 May; the Amazon price is £10. Spurling may alo be rdered from Amazon UK and Amazon.com . Anyone who wishes to order these volumes, please use the links above, or the links on the website homepage as this will give you the Amazon discount and also send a small donation to the Society. [Oh, and before anyone asks ...
No, Random House have no plans to republish any other of Powell's works.
As far as they are concerned they are not commercial enough.
Sad, but commercial organisations have to make a profit!]
