Test Your Knowledge
of Dance

This quiz was originally printed in Anthony Powell Communications, No 19, July 1983, the newsletter of the (now defunct) Anthony Powell Society of Kalamazoo, USA. The quiz itself was preceded by the following preamble ...

The following quiz was contributed by Fred Warner (University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM), who describes its origin and results in these words:

The last time I used A Dance [in a graduate course], I devised a very long quiz on all the books, and the class spent an hour answering it. I then supplied the key, and the winner got a bottle of wine. Of course, I did not count the quiz as part of the real grade, and everyone seemed to have fun. ... The winning score was 78, scored by a woman who was auditing. Each question counts two points (the key will be printed in the next issue). Scores higher than 78 should be reported to me (for publication in APComms.).
