Can you explain how the Anthony Powell E-mail Discussion List works?
The list works by the server sending all contributions, by e-mail, to every member. Members contribute to the discussions by sending their contributions as e-mail messages to the list server at: aplist@yahoogroups.com. You can only send and receive list messages, or view the message archive, if you are a member. Joining is simple, just complete the Subscription Form. Alternatively you can send an e-mail to aplist-subscribe@yahoogroups.com; this e-mail needs have no content. The YahooGroups system will then send a test message to your e-mail address; this will ask you to validate your subscription by replying to the e-mail quoting the appropriate security code (instructions are in the test e-mail message). Having done this you will then start receiving list contributions. One thing to watch out for ... If you submit a message and it is bounced, it may be that your mail server presents e-mail as originating from an e-mail address other than the one with which you joined the list. If this happens you need to subscribe to the list with the e-mail address presented by your mail server. [Hint: check your "Reply To" address; if this is different from the e-mail address you used to join YahooGroups, you may need to join under your "Reply To" address.] Please be aware that this is a free service, courtesy of YahooGroups who reserve the right to place a small advertisement the bottom of each item. Please also be aware that the list owner, who is also the webmaster for this site, does not have the ability to fix your subscription to YahooGroups. Please ensure you keep a copy of your joining emails as they will contain security information you may require at a later date. |
